Forum Policy requirement

@maculino23, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and Graphics Card.
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard (Mobo).

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier on everybody, if the Forum Post Page automatically reminds users with a prompt to check their “Personal Details” with a link or “Build signature” with a link and edit the required fields before allowing them to post?


Many new users cannot find this Forum Policy requirement (which is EXCELLENT) very easily. Even those who are not so new do not often provide that information and a lot of Moderator time is seen spent on this type of reminders.

Similarly, many Laptop troubleshoot requests are posted on this Forum.

Making such changes to the Forum Webpage is not a hard thing to do in my opinion.

I hear the song loud and clear by trying to be part of the choir. It is the audience out there who seem to be oblivious to all of the above. They are mainly focused on their computer issues and unaware of the Forum Policy which is good for them and good for all who are using this great site. Thank you for reading.

Although, I did hit the Rules page first. I think its the option to not read the automated mail. if you disable all new users from passing perhaps an overlay of the message. If they do not agree (checkbox or radio btn), they are automatically logged out. If they agree then the message is removed and they are redirected to the rules page.

Brainstorm:

• Disable Site Access to new users (HALT SESSION).
• Display the automated message in a Dialog box or overlay.
• If they agree:
  • Disable them from seeing that message again
  • redirect to Rules page.
• If they disagree:
  • If they disagree, then its like they are not accepting Tonymacx86 Rules.
  • Redirect to login screen (kill_session). Leave a notify message with reason to why the session was terminated.

Honestly its like a 2 minute read, not really an inconvenience since tonymacx86 supplies you with the tools and the community is awesome.

I have to say I have read the rules, but I can't seem to find any sticky or rules about how to post asking for specific help. I know I need to include specific files, but which ones? I have seen in so many posts instructions to follow the rules for posting for help, but I can't seem to find those rules. . . So, I can understand why it takes a couple attempts for all the noobs to get the posting right.
