hi guys,

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H 32GB RAM
CPU: Intel i7-4790K
Graphics: 2x 5770

today i somehow killed my mobo :(
was looking for a replacement for the Gigabyte GA-Z97X but couldnt find any reasonable offers.

what should i do?
any tips for a new motherboard? mind that i would need one for the dual graphic-cards.

or

is there any good suggestion for a new mobo+graphics.
should be working smooth for cutting and editing in FCP X.

A new motherboard (not second hand) now will also require a new CPU and new RAM (DDR4). Are you willing to fork out that much money for your replacement? Depending on the OS you are running, a new motherboard may also require a OS upgrade.

Can you find second hand Z97 motherboards from other brands like Asus, if there are no suitable Gigabyte boards on offer?

no, i want to keep the ram and cpu...
which mobos will fit? is a ASUS Maximus VII Gene alright?

i was looking for some second-hand z97,
...only found a UD3 and the prices werent that fair.
i would have to buy a new graphics also in that case... maybe the r9 280x?

The Z97X-UD3H, if that is what you are talking about, can use 2 graphics card at x8 bandwidth each, which should suit your purposes. The only problem is the price.

I believe a Maximus VII Gene should also work.

thx for the help so far!!
it seems like my CPU was dead too.
just got a i7 4790 + ASrock z97 extreme4 for a pretty fair price

about to reinstall the hackintosh...
do i need to setup everything from new or where should i take it from here?
UniBeast/MultiBeast ?!...
really appreciate your help!

Your replacement hardware is similar to your original, so if I were you I would just configure the correct BIOS options on your replacement motherboard and then attempt to boot from the system on the disk to see if it is successful. If successful then you can continue to use it as if nothing happened.

with the 5770 I get a black screen while the Apple logo is on and loading and everything kinda shuts down.. but it works with no graphics in (on board) :(
