Hi all,
I have a Lenovo Y50 (2015 model) with a full HD 1080p screen and nVidia 860M 4GB variant discrete GPU.
Specs in brief:
i7 4710HQ (haswell variant), 16GB DDR3L RAM, 1TB SSHD, nVidia 860M 4GB (maxwell variant), ALC 283 for audio?, for ethernet RTL811xx patch works fine but I need bette/clean way of doing the same :|

I followed this guide to clean install Sierra which installed fine; need stable enough machine for daily driver for development and so far I found that many people praise Y50 for the best suitable machine to do so.

But I need help in fixing the following:
- keyboard/touch pad not working (fixable by me as per my research so far; but pls still correct me)
- ethernet (fixable by me as per my research so far; but pls still correct me)
- wifi
- audio
- glitchy desktop environment/graphics
- battery/charging indicator
- CPU/chipset drivers? throttling/temps..? anything I am missing here?
- keyboard backlighting
- screen brightness
- video+audio over hdmi

A few queries I have:
- should I try clean installing el capitan/yosemite? thinking it might be more supported given the hardware..?

Cheers!

why didn't you follow the guide? https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-lenovo-y50-uhd-or-1080p-using-clover-uefi-10-11.168612/

I felt that guide as is for el capitan and lengthy and hence I wanted a more transparent, direct way.

Is there a way I can reuse the bootable usb drive I created using unibeast to follow this ^guide?

Follow the guide as written. Don't expect others to provide a custom written guide for your desires.
