Fix Sleep on Sierra

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi. I'm having pretty much the same issues as everyone else. Goes to sleep and then a second later it wakes up again.

Wake reason according to terminal is:

2017-08-29 21:33:37.431996+0200 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: XDCI XHC
2017-08-29 21:33:37.431996+0200 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: XDCI XHC

I attached my ioreg and clover folder.

I had the exact same problem. The only fix was to do the PROPER USB port fix:

Thanks, I’ll have a look at this.

Question, does this include motherboard USB headers? I mean, how would you test those?

You don't unless they are connected to an external port on the case or something.

The whole point is to find out which ports are in use and remove the ones that aren't used. Then you can remove the port limit patches and also do proper power management on the USB.

UPDATE: The discussion is happening HERE!
Hi all,

I have the issue of Instant Wake from Sleep after I recently bought a Broadcom BCM94360CD WiFi + Bluetooth card from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ide...32590154736.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.nJGmIY

This is what I get with
log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"
and it seems like it's from the new WiFi + Bluetooth as they are connected on the MB on the USB sockets:
2017-09-05 22:32:01.046173+0300 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: GBE USBE
2017-09-05 22:36:57.411193+0300 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: GBE USBE
2017-09-05 22:36:57.411195+0300 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: GBE USBE

My current specs are:
macOS Sierra 10.12.6.
MB: Asus P6T Deluxe V2
GPU: GTX 275
CPU: i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB

Also, please find attached a DSDT that MaciASL showed me immediately as I started it.
I also attached the IOReg file.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Edit:

Here is what pmset -g assertions is showing:

Edit2: What I also did, while searching the forums, was to open MacIASL, which seemed like it was extracting the DSDT automatically.
I removed the PRW method from all the USB devices, but it wan't working properly after that. It was going into sleep, and I could wake it only from the power button, but after pushing the button, the screen remains black and the fans spin at max speed.

I also attached the config.plist I'm currently using.

Thanks!

When I had the H61N-USB3 I had the same problem its related to the Frisco USB 3.0 Controller. I found having it enabled the machine would just Kernel Panic. When disabling it it breaks Sleep. I also had Rehabman to look at the problem but we could not solve it.

So you're telling me there's no hope to my issue huh?

No sorry. Maybe get a different board. Series 7 has native USB 3.0 support.
Thanks Jack, I won't fuss with it any longer. I'll just sell it and because I have too many machines here. I'm really trying to get my Elitebook 840 G2 to fully work. Just need sound and screen brightness to work.
