Hi all,

I am planning on entering the fold and building my first Hackintosh. This is my core components list, I would really appreciate any guidance for compatibility with OS X or hardware choices.

Case Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 Windowed ATX High Airflow Cube
Motherboard GIGABYTE Z97X-UD7-TH Intel LGA1150 Z97
CPU Intel Core i7-4790K
RAM Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz
GPU Gigabyte GTX 970 WINDFORCE 3X 4GB GDDR5
Storage 500GB Seagate Momentus 7200 2.5 HDD (from Mid 2010 MBP)
Power Corsair RM Series RM650 80 Plus Gold 650W ATX/EPS

I am planning to run OS X Yosemite and Windows 7 or 8. Thanks in advance for your help.

Kevin.

Everything looks good. What I would recommend is using two separate SSDs/HDs if you were planning on dual-booting. Doing this on one hard drive is not recommended, but you can still try. Also, I would definitely go for a dual channel memory. It's worth the 5 extra dollars. Future tip: Pretty much anything you see in the buyers guide is going to work

Agreed. I will be running OS X initially and then add another drive for Windows.

This is my core components list for getting the rig up and running. I will be looking to add further 8GB RAM cards as and when I can afford, hence single channel to begin with.

Thanks for the confirmation and the comments and tips.
