Hi Guys,
I'm a student studying editing and post and already own a macbook pro however it being 4 years old it's on it's way out but i don't have the money for a new one so i'm looking at building a hackintosh for home!
I'm a complete novice at this so need all the help i can get!
Most of this is from the tonymacx86 guide anyway
Basically looking at the specs i'm looking at this:
Procesor: Intel Core i7-4770K
Ram: Corsair 32GB (4x 8GB) Vengeance Memory Module
Motherboard: GA-Z87X-UD3H
Power: Corsair 650 Watt Modular
Storage: SATA 6Gb/s 240GB SSD (Looking for a bigger SSD though however so suggestions would be great)
WiFi Card:TP-Link PCI Express
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 670
From what i know about computers this should handle most rendering I wanna do, for a bit of background i'll be running stuff like
Avid, FCP and Premiere, Nuke, Cinema 4D and After Effects!
Handling red files and 4k workflows etc
Hoping this will handle it quickly and efficiently is this right?
Also if anyone knows or can get me a step by step guide that would be great, if it has a video or pictures even better, i really don't wanna screw this up!
Am also looking for a good monitor preferably IPS but i'm on a budget so if anyone knows that would be great!
Anymore advice tips and tricks etc would be great as i mentioned complete novice tackling a humongous task for me!
Thanks guys!
