Hey everyone,

Im planing to build my first hackintosh for audio-production.

Here is my planned Hardware:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790
Mainboard: Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (blue)
SSD: Samsung Serie 840 EVO ssd
HDD: Seagate HDD 1tb
Power Supply: CORSAIR CS550M 550w
Graphics:EVGA GTX 760
Case: Corsair Carbide Series
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 11 LP

I want to Install Yosemite and Windows 8 with dual Boot.

This is my first hackintosh ever!
Iv read a lot of Guides and Forum Stuff here on tonymac, but i would like to hear the communities view on this hardware and the compatibility or some tips for this system and installation.

Another question for all you Yosemite users:
do you have experience with software or audio-plugin (vst, au) compatibility with the new osx ?

Edit:
Do you maybe have an idea for more quite components ?

thanks everyone for help :headbang:

you must plan to game in Windows, otherwise you don't need the GPU.
What does your GPU OEM say the minimum PSU requirements for your GPU will be? Did you run a size calculation on it or just pick it from the list?

Otherwise I see nothing to cause problems.

Considering Yosemite has not been out a week, no one has any chance to test all hardware yet.

hey,
thanks for your answer.

yes a little bit gaming and video editing,
but especially audio production.

i picked it from the list and calculated it roughly ... the psu should be enough.

any tips for the installation and bios settings ?

You must be new to audio production. .. otherwise you would not even be thinking about making a DAW build using Yosemite less than a week after OS X 10.10 is released.

Take a look at this post to see just how much stuff is NOT compatible as of yet: http://www.pro-tools-expert.com/hom...official-compatibility-statements-so-far.html

If this is your first build, you might consider doing a Mavericks 10.9.5 build and wait for a couple of point releases with Yosemite... maybe 10.10.2 or 10.10.3 before finally upgrading. ..

hey,
