Hey Everyone!
I'm planning on building my first hackintosh, I've followed the buyer's guide and think I have a pretty decent set up for a good price. I was wondering if some experienced veterans out there could give me a few recommendations or make note of any issues/mistakes I might have as this is my first computer build lol. If everything goes according to plan I will definitely have updates and pictures and everything for you guys.
Heres the Specs:
CPU - i5 6500 3.2Ghz 6thGen Quad Core
MoBo - Asus H170M-Plus/Csm microATX
RAM - Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400 (mobo only takes ddr4 2133 but according to what I looked up should just run at 2133)
Drive - Crucial 275GB SSD (prob will throw a 1TB WD Blue or something in at a later date)
PSU - Corsair CS 550w (I have a Thermaltake TR2 500w from another pc I was thinking about using but might just pick up the Corsair, seems like a better quality PSU)
GPU - GTX 1050 TI (eventually) **At some point I will be getting a good GPU for this system but for now I was just going to use onboard graphics. I'm a musician and my entire workload for my mac is Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and Sibelius. I don't really feel I need a great GPU for right now. But let me know what you guys think.
Case - Already picked up the Tesseract from Deep Cool for a fairly good price(the blue LED one). not too many usb ports in the front, but I will likely get a powered USB port to lay on top of the computer.
That should be it, I'd love to hear everyones thoughts and suggestions. I'm pretty stoked to be joining the hackintosh community!
Cheers,
BoBandy
