Hello Guys,

My name is Jerome, i'm from Paris, France. First of all thank you a lot I didn't knew a thing about hackintosh few days ago, and with all your mods you've been quite inspirating me. So here I am for my first experience.

A friend gave me an Old G5 case wich is in perfect condition. Not any scratches, and it still does work. But now it's an outdated computer. So I decided to Mod it.
I own a Macbook Pro retina and an Imac 27 inch from 2009 ( getting slow ).
I'm a Sound Ingeneer/musician/Dj so I need a good computer to run heavy sessions on Pro Tools, Ableton or Logic pro. But i'm also a Gamer, so i'd like my computer to keep the distance.
I'd like to have a Dual boot with Windows 10 and OS X El captain or Mavericks, so I want to have two SSD and HD , one for each software. Maybe i'll add another one that both software can use, but don't know how to do it !

So if could give me some advice in my set up it would be awesome guys !! :)

The ATX form factor is not the best choice. You would have a better modding experience with a Micro-ATX motherboard such as this one: http://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00K9R1P3A/?tag=tonymacx8607-21

The Micro-ATX form factor can be installed without cutting the top shelf and retaining the PSU in the lower section. See "The Workshop" forum for ideas.

Good modding,
neil

Thanks a lot, i'll look forward for that. It might be better because I'd like to keep the inside as it is it ( the structure of the fans etc... )

+1 for The Laser Hive

Dave is a great guy and a pleasure to do business with. I will definitely be going back to him for my next mod..

Get the MLB/ROM values off the G5 if you can to make iMessage work on your new rig.

Highly recommend these guys for kits to mod your case for full ATX:

Good luck!

Yeah i've heard of him and his work. I've bought the G5 full mATX conversion kit and also the Front panel kit wich allows to have a functionnal front panel on the G5 ( it's amazing )

What do you think guys about thunderbolt ? Is it nowadays workable ? like on this mobo ?

http://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00KCZU89Q/?tag=tonymacx8607-21

But I choose the Asus Maximus mATX for my build. But i'm sad, i'm working in a recording studio so we use a lot thunderbolt.. I hear about external cards to do that, but it's quite obscure for me. How could I do to get reliable Intel Thunderbolt on my G5 ?
