First build, need advice on hardware

Hello everyone,

I'm looking build an editing rig (FCPX) that would be very quiet.

I dont plan to game on it so I thought I would not buy a GC, but instead choosing a mobo with DisplayPort to run my 4k display.

• Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel Z170 ATX DDR4
• Intel Core i7-6700 8M Skylake Quad-Core 3.4 GHz
• Crucial 32GB (2 x 16GB)
• SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SATA III
• CORSAIR CS-M Series CS550M 550W
• Fractal Design Define R5 Black Silent ATX Midtower
• TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless
• be quiet! SHADOW ROCK 2 CPU Cooler 180W TDP

What do you think of this combinaison of parts?
Would you spend an extra 50$ to get the i7 6700k ?
Will it run my 4k display at 4096x2304@60Hz on the displayport ?
Is it worth it to invest in a M.2 ssd instead of SATA3 ssd?
Where should I put my money? The M.2 or 6700k?

Hello and welcome to the community. I would personally spend the extra 50$ on a K series as you are all ready buying a unlockable motherboard. You will be able to easily over clock it.

Actually, I just ordered all the above parts... but I went with the 6700K
I though the extra 600MHz was worth it.

I will definitly be watching your Youtube videos, thanks for the reply.

How's your experience so far? stable? Does airplay works?
