About This Build
The entire system was a breeze to get functioning. I will be mainly using this to edit video, for use as a digital audio workstation, and for a minimal ammount of gaming. I am getting ready to upgrade the graphics card :).

It has a few updated components that Gigabyte is using in all of their new revs. ALC892 Audio functions completely with ALC8xxHDA (Thanks to SamiSnake and Toleda). The Realtek 8111E Ethernet chip requires Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx.kext available here:

The system is up and functioning 100% with Lion. Everything works. I have yet to encounter a problem. Boot time is a whopping minute, even with an SSD. I have no idea why, and will look into it when it becomes a bother. But you know what they say, don't mess with a working system ;).

Re: First Build - King Night

Upgraded to a nVidia GTX 580 TI.

Just slapped it in and it worked on Lion with nothing extra to do. Just how I like it :3

Thats crazy, I thought those GPUs didn't work with OS X? If so I certainly hope a 560 ti works in OS X cause I very much prefer nVidia GPUs over AMD/ATI.

Yes but from the minimal research I did before I recklessly purchased it, it ONLY works with Lion.

Re: First Build - King Night

Which specific nVidia GTX 580 TI did you purchase?

Can I get a direct link pretty please? :p

Got it right at my local Bestbuy. So far, with portal 2 and the entire Half Life 2 Series, I can run on max settings and still run smooth as silk :). It hasn't flinched at ANYTHING I have thrown at it.

Edit: WOAH. I totally made a mistake. A buddy of mine has a 580, and we weret alking about our graphics cards together on skype when I filled out that post. I have a 550 TI, not a 580. Although I would believe both would work :p.

Hi,
I have the same motherboard, but I have some problems of internet connection. I installed the RTL81xx v 0.0.90 but one time out of two, my computer starts without connection. In system preferences, the cable seems to be disconnected.
And after sleeping, connection ok, but USB doesn't work (I know, it's another problem)
Do you had this kind of problem?

(sorry for my english, I'm french)
Thanks
