I keep getting this message in console every few seconds:

I currently have the Syba Low Profile PCI-Express 1394b/1394A Card, TI Chipset installed so I assume that's what is causing this error. It seems to only show up after the computer has been sleeping. Do I need to worry about this? Does anyone know of a fix?

I've got a GA-Z77X-UP5 TH for a motherboard.

Thanks!

I'm not able to try it myself, but I've read that turning of the 1394 controller in BIOS (for the on-board Firewire) remedies this?

I have the same Firewire error, but can not turn off the 1394 controller in the BIOS as I have no additional firewire controller. But I'd love to get rid of the messages. I also wonder if the messages are preventing my system from going into sleep on its own ( I can put it to sleep manually). Thanks.

What BIOS version are you running? Mine is F3. The Firewire controller is just listed as 1394 i believe. I had to poke around a bit to find it. After switching it off the messages stopped.

I'm running F4 BIOS. I wonder if flashing to the latest would help. I'm just nervous about flashing.

I just found and turned off the BIOS 1394 controller. The messages are gone. I realized that I can use the Thunderbolt ports and the Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire cable to get my Firewire fix.

Same board, same error. I'm getting random freezes and I can't quite figure out what causes it. Freezes aren't frequent and sometimes I'll go a full day without one but I generally average one a day.

I'm having the same right now too! I've read that updating the system BIOS to the latest update usually fixes it...
