Hi everyone. Someone I know would like me to build them a hackintosh for video editing. I think it's important that they're able to use an external FireWire drive to move their project around when they need to, but this is adding a little confusion for me.
Are FireWire PCI-e expansion cards recognized by Mac OS X? Has anyone successfully installed a FireWire pci-e/pci card in a hackintosh and hooked it up to an external firewire drive?
If so are there brands that work better than others? I guess then I would have to find an external firewire drive with both mac / pc firewire ports.
thank you in advanced!
