    Picked up a secondhand R9 280X for $150 AUD

Put it in, it worked straight away with no problems.

    Bruce X Time - 14.2 seconds!

Someone finally talked me into doing the BruceX test. To be honest, it wasn't a difficult sale. He said, "Would you try?" I said, "OK".

So my R7 370 4GB, 32GB RAM, Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3, SanDisk SSD rig gave me three results that averaged 19.013333 seconds.

May I suggest you link your YT tutorial in your post.

I just re-read The Rules, and I can't see any transgression (your content is based on TMX86 tools and guides). Your tut is like a clearer version of nahid rains.

Well, I'll go ahead and do that. If this is against some rule, just lemme know and I'll delete it, no problem.

So, what is suggested now a days? Nvidia 970 or a 370/x? I have a new build going centered around this crap:
    6700k
    Gigbyte ud5 TH
    32GB 3000 ddr4 cas14

And I will be using it primarily for fcp x. Just need to know what is the best card for $200.

Previous builds, like a 4770k put in a 280x, but with nvidia coming out with new drivers that make their cards work better with El Capitan. Spoon feed me what is suggested? LOL.

Anybody have any suggestions on my new build? 980ti vs r9 380?

I'm looking at building an x99(Asus or Gigabyte...still on the fence...leaning more towards Gigabyte) i75820k, 64gb Ram ddr4, but stuck on GPU. :/

Which 290x are you using? And if I may ask what RAM is in your system, speed and cas?
