Fan speed with Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 in Mojave?

Hello,
I’m considering upgrading to a Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 from a Sapphire RX 580, as the prices are going down.
I can’t seem to find for sure whether the card will work OOB (Sapphire Vega is on Apple recommended list for eGPU), or the fans will go at high speed.

If the fan speed is high, I can’t tell whether VGTab kext will work on this card?

Does anyone have experience with this card on Mojave?

I have one, and VGTab works with it. It didn't have the fans stuck on high issue for me, but I did tweak the fans and voltage/clocks.

I'm using clover+WhateverGreen to inject the various power play settings, but the VGTab 'dummy' kext worked just as well.

I'm still doubting a bit, as some are reporting high fan speed problems that are not solvable with VGTab, for example in this thread:
