I have a Mavericks Hackintosh running on a Gigabyte GA-Z77Z-UD5H in a Corsair Carbide 300R case. Over the past few weeks, I have had a recurring problem with the rear case fan. It gets into a mode where it spins very, very slowly (currently: 46 rpm) and makes a ton of noise. The fan is quiet at normal speeds (~1000 rpm), so the fan itself seems to be functional.

Not sure if this matters, but HWMonitor tells me that it is plugged in as "Mainboard Fan 4". Anyone seen an issue like this? Is there a way to tell Mavericks that the fan should either be off or set to a more reasonable speed, but not 46 rpm?

Thanks for your help!
