i assume that after i have installed the screen, its just a matter of replacing the dsdt to the 1080 version ?

It is best to replace the DSDT before, that way it is ready to be used. Or you can place it in extra as /Extra/dsdt1080.aml and then boot with DSDT=dsdt1080.aml after you replace the screen.

You will also want to put that DSDT on your Unibeast flash drive for recovery purposes.

It doesn't matter. DSDT is bits in BIOS. It is not dependent on what software you are running on the machine.
