When it comes to graphics cards, EVGA has managed to cut out a pretty good share of at least the US market, but the company is struggling a bit on the motherboards side despite its efforts at targeting high-end gamers and overclockers. Now the company looks set to introduce something a bit different from its otherwise XL sized boards, namely a mini-ITX motherboard.

So far the company has only released a teaser image on its Facebook page and the picture is suitably blurred to hide a lot of its features. However, we can at least make out some things like the fact that it has a pair of full-size DIMM slots, two SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports, a PCI Express x16 slot, what appears to be two USB 2.0 pin-headers and one USB 3.0 pin-header. Beyond that, things get a bit tricky, although we can make out an 8-pin 12V power connector and the VRM module has a rather large heatsink, suggesting that EVGA is targeting overclockers with this board.

Other features appear to include a standard set of six audio jacks, an Ethernet port, a pair of rear USB 3.0 ports, most likely at least two USB 2.0 ports and what might be a Bluetooth dongle. Beyond that, we’re simply guessing, but we have a feeling EVGA has gone for at least a DisplayPort and an HDMI port and the good news is that there doesn’t appear to be a D-sub connector on this board. All we can do now is to wait for an official announcement to see how hackintosh friendly this so far un-named board from EVGA will be.

Update: A couple of additional pictures were posted over at LegitReviews of the EVGA mini-ITX board and this could be the big one for all Hackintosh users, as it looks like EVGA will be first to slap Thunderbolt on a mini-ITX board. We can't be certain, but the board clearly has a mini DisplayPort connector.

On top of that, a post by a product manager on the EVGA forums has revealed that the EVGA metal plate next to the chipset heatsink is hiding a half-size mini PCI Express slot. Now let's hope for some good UEFI support and this board could be a slam dunk.

I hope it has thunderbolt. Would be really coo.

Wow, so small, and if it does have all those features that we want, it will be interesting to see what it's cost will be.

Good news :headbang:

Thanks for the news thelostswede :)

Wow, that is tiny. But sweet.

That thing is a beauty, wish it had 2 more satas

What is that column in the third image? Some kind of an air exhaust funnel?

It reminds me of the overclocking videos where they pour liquid helium etc.
