I'm running 10.10.2 build 14C1514 and I'm trying to install a new GTX 750 GPU. When I boot the only resolution available is 1024x768 using either HDMI or DP.

With the help of this thread I was able to install the NVIDIA WebDriver-343.02.02f03.pkg, but I can't seem to get the driver to load. In the NVIDIA Driver Manager preference pane it states that the installed driver is not compatible, but in my config.plist I have the following flags set:

nvda_drv=1
dart=0
kext-dev-mode=1
Inject NVIDIA

My /System/Library/Extensions/NVDAStartup.kext/Contents/Info.plist file reflects build 14C1514.
My system definition is set to MacPro3,1.
About This Mac shows the following: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 0 MB

Thanks in advance for the help.

did you clear kernel cache after changing the info.plist?

OK, finally got it working. Here's the steps I took:

  1. Removed GTX 750
  2. Set BIOS to IGFX
  3. Changed SystemVersion AND Info.plist to 14C1510
  4. Executed the following:
    1. sudo kextcache -system-caches
    2. sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
  5. Ran the 343.02.02f04 installer (it didn't complain about compatibility)
  6. Reboot
  7. Boot back into BIOS and set Initial Display Output to PCIe 1 Slot AND disabled the integrated Intel graphics
  8. Re-installed the GTX 750

The NVIDIA Driver Manager preference pane is fully functional, and I'm able to set my max resolution (1440p).

Now my questions are, do I need to go back and revisit Step 3 above and change the build back to 14C1514? And how do I get the GPU to stop running at (what I think is) max RPM? (15k rpm!?)

Thanks Jithin.C.V and slim.jim!
