Hello everyone,

I'm having problems with my EVGA GT 740 SC.
I replaced my old Radeon 9800 with the GT740. Now, the system boots into OS X 10.6.8, but the GT740 is not properly recognized and I can only run one Display at 1024x768. The System Profiler lists it as "Unknown".
When I boot in Verbose Mode, I get a message telling me that FakeSMC doesn't support my card.
Everything else (Audio, Ethernet, etc.) runs fine.

Is there a way to get this thing running properly?
"GraphicsEnabler=No" did not fix the problem.

Updating is only possible until OS X 10.7 because I need to run Logic Pro with some old 32-bit plugins.

Thx in advance!

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 4x2.83GHz
Mainboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS4 (F/W: F10b)
RAM: 8GB DDR2 (OCZ)
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GT740 SC with 4GB GDDR5

The solution is download and install NVIDIA Web Driver for your model.

Edit: Web drivers are not available for SL

The Gt740 isn't supported in SL, I think you will need at least ML.

The previous posters advice is no good as there is no nvidia drivers with gt740 support for SL.

Thanks for the ultra-fast response.
I just had a look at NVIDIA drivers download page. The only thing I could find directly were CUDA drivers. Using the search-function, I didn't get any results when searching for either GT 740 or GT 700 and Mac OS X (even tried 700 series as search term). I looked through all Mac drivers the search returned - but none of theme offered explicit support for GT 700 series...

Does anybody know what driver version offers support for the GT740?

Thanks in advance

Sorry - your answer came while I was typing my answer to Jithin.C.V's post...

I'll have a look if I can get 10.8 from somewhere... Apple doesn't offer the installer anymore.

Yes Right. Web drivers are available from Mountain Lion only.

You can order 10.8 from the Apple Store still, I believe..

So there are we drivers to get this card working with 10.8.5?

This card should be supported natively in 10.8.3+. Support for the ddr5 variant sometimes requires the Nvidia Web Drivers.
