It's a known issue, try replacing the 10.6.4 nvidia/geforce kexts with 10.6.3, also happens when gaming.

Or try with the 1.6.18.16 (19.5.9f02) leaked? version (no issues for me)

hm... I didn't know of this. Thanks for the heads up. I've never really had the problem but, then again right now I can't even use my OSX because I am running a GTX 460. :/
