As for the booting problem. I followed this guide to get it working:

it's worth a lot, knowing what type of hardware you're using.
also it sounds like you did not set up your bootloader via multibeast after installation?

There's a difference between Ethernet drivers and Audio drivers .. should be obvious in multibeast because audio drivers are in the audio section and ethernet in network section.
To be sure what ethernet controller/chip is used by your Mainboard ask google and then install it via multibeast
for audio you need Realtek® ALC892 drivers, which are implemented in multibeast
for ethernet you need RealtekRTL8111 drivers, not sure if they're implemented in multibeast already, otherwise use this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/88-realtekrtl8111-binaryzip/

in general, find your way through the guide posted by nivv.

i don't have a build with asus mainboard but a GA z87n-Wifi and all that matters in the end were some settings in bios to get mavericks startet without usb stick.
first, be sure to disable (as written in the guide) VD-T or VT-d or whatever it's called.
second, if you're using CPU-based graphics (intel HD 3xxx, 4xxx) manage the VRAM to 64mb. higher vram led to boot error..

third, (what is confusing me the most) it could be helpful, to turn off full screen logo show in bios startup. in my case i had to disable full screen logo show to boot correctly :?:. don't know why but it worked and is still working
maybe your MB works with this options.
