I have been installing and reinstalling my new system pretty much all day today and I can't get the ethernet to work. It works fine just after installing the driver via multibeast, then once I reboot it never works again.

System Info:
Mobo: Gigabyte Z68MX-UD2H-B3
Core i5 2500K
4GB mem installed
Radeon 4870 (which isn't installed at the moment while I try and get the network working)

while booting it says:
Unknown device type, reg=0x2c800000

and

AppleRTL8169Ethernet: Unknown Hardware version ID (2c8000000)
AppleRTL8169Ethernet: probeHardware() failed

lots of times.

Network works fine running of a linux usb drive.

I have tried F3 and F5 bioses.

I tried both realtek drivers in mutlibeast. I have done about 10 fresh installs and still no go. I have looked at all the guides from other running the same or similar boards... I am missing something. I've done many hackintoshes before, but never had a problem like this. The only think I can think is maybe I have a newer revision of the networking chip or something that isn't supported yet.

Never mind, I figured it out. I needed to be booting off the disk and not off iBoot for the networking to work. I'll just leave this here incase anyone else has the same problem.
