All - I updated my wife's computer to a i5-2500K (SB) on a GA-Z77N (7-series). I can get it to boot just fine (thanks to other threads) but when I made the changes in post 1, it messed up my resolution so I went back to the original files. Luckily things are back to the correct resolution.

I personally wouldn't suggest making the post 1 changes while running High Sierra. My 2 cents.

Great information though.

UPDATE - after the screen turns off (computer still running/ no sleep) I am having trouble getting it to come back on. If I wait an hour or so, it comes back normally but after 3+ hours, it stays black and I have to reboot.

Anyone have an idea on how to resolve?
