Work on my X99 System !

Hi Ademir, on your X99 did you use the iGPU method (iGPU fakeid + igplatformid) ?
Dual GPU method (another supported card with your rx 480) ?
Or only single rx 480 to boot ?

I'm looking to upgrade my current HD7870 to rx 480 on my x79 Xeon E5-2650.

Thanks

I successfully installed macOS on my system,

and i enabled RX480 using the kext editing method shown on this thread,

i also enabled intel HD 3000 on clover,

I currently on Clover Version 3270, should i update to the latest version, in order to get correct DevId?

this is a dualboot machine, Currently My clover installation is in Legacy mode on a Legacy bios 6x motherboard, changing it to UEFI mode will cause problem to my windows 10 installation. my biggest problem is how to upgrade Clover in legacy mode correctly, and also enable sleep on clover config?

you should really move to patching the graphics on the fly with clover kexts to patch function refer to my post on page 28 post 272 to do this

search the forums here to get working power management on sandy bridge system to fix the sleep wake issue

Yes update clover download the latest installer and run it

Please list your Motherboard and Cpu specs. If you have intel fixes they can cause issues with some graphics programs. Also, go to "About this Mac" and then click on System Report, and then Graphics & Displays. Press SHIFT+COMMAND+3 to get a screen shot and please move your Graphics Displays window up to cover your serial number.

Thanks for the help in this thread, I have managed to get my msi rx 480 working with acceleration on 10.12.2 on a dual boot with Windows 10.

The only issue I have is that I get a black screen on the boot menu until os x gets to the login screen. Will this always be the case of will there be a way to fix this?

Thanks

This is the perplexing thing about Sierra, and it's not just the RX cards that are effected. Many AMD cards are having the same issue, the Clover fixers are hard at work trying to resolve this but for now there is no way around it.

Look into the "Enabling all cores with Fury cards" thread to get even better performance from your RX 480. It's a pretty easy fix to activate all 36 CUs in open CL format.

If you use the latest clover bootloader 390O+ a d inject ATI in clover settings it will name it correctly. It's just cosmetic though, and if injecting ATI causes problems then go back to your normal settings.

You can also use iHex and fix it in the 9500controller kext.
