Hello, I have installed everything in El Capitan 10.11.3 including the nvidia web driver it does detect the graphics and acceleration but it doesn't display the full resolution of my monitor of 1920x1080 it only detects 1280x1024 how can I fix this? The GPU is connected using dvi-i to VGA adapter. I will include the config.plist and pictures of the problem. The GPU is connected using dvi-i to VGA which my monitor is a Samsung S22C150 with vga output but it shouldn't be a problem because the vdi-i accepts digital and analog signal. I will include the config.plist and pictures of the problem.

In OS X there is no analogue signal...Apple do support a digital to VGA connection though.

I am using a dvi-I to vga adapter I need to know how to setup the 1920x1080x32 resolution I downloaded SwitchResX set it up to the resolution but I see black sides on the borders.

DVI-I to VGA has known issues.

Any problem with a VGA monitor
  • VGA is not well supported. Use a digital connection (DVI, HDMI, DP) if at all possible.
  • Otherwise, use an active adapter (active DVI-D to VGA, active DP/HDMI to VGA, etc.). Do not use a DVI-I to VGA adapter.

Thank you, I will update you if it resolves my problem. I thought VDI-I to VGA adapters accepted analogue signal. Which adapter would you recommend Adrian?

Apple have a couple of adapters available for laptops and desktops to connect to a VGA connection on a monitor or projector. You should be able to find something similar that is DVI-D or HDMI to VGA.

A non Apple product may be a little more bulky in appearance but will probably also cost a little less to buy.

Adrian I will buy a new monitor to not get any troubles with vga ports in the future using OS X.

which would you require me to use HDMI or DVI-D? My Graphics card has a minihdmi port so I'm guessing it won't be a problem using a miniHDMI to HDMI.

MiniHDMI to HDMI is perfectly fine.

If you want a very slim mini HDMI to HDMI cable, look at this one: http://www.monoprice.com/mobile/pro...categoryid=10255&subcategoryid=1025505&cpncd=

Hi All,

I connected the mini_HDMI cable and i don't get any signal in the monitor. When I check the video card information in my systems since that it is not recognized. The same information is displayed in the about this mac window. Any help will be more than appreciated. I have Capitan installed.
