Ive been using El Capitan for a while now, but only just recently discovered that the system profiler only shows 4 gb of 16 gb of ram.

Any idea on how to fix this.

See specs in my profile.

edit, i should add that the Bios detects it just fine.

As mentioned in an edit. The Ram displays right in the Bios.
I dont understand it, this has never been a problem before.
But honestly, i didn't even Check it after installing El Capitan, but only just now found out.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Quite similar problem here:
Hardware:
GIGABYTE Z170X-UD5 TH
Intel Core i7-6700K
Ballistix Sport LT 16GBx2 DDR4 2400 RAM
GeForce GTX 950 Windforce 2GB

BIOS shows 32 GB, but El Capitan shows 16. And the funny thing: It shows two slots are in use, each with 8 GB. Completely confused! Help would very much appreciated!
