I've come up against a problem in OSX 10.11 where there is a constant Kernel_task using between 600mb-1Gb ram and 75GB VRAM!
The processor is only being tasked 4-5% by the task.

It appeared after I upgraded from 10.8 to 10.11 on my Gigabyte GT z77x-UD5H motherboard.
I just recently upgraded to an Asus P8Z77-V-PRO-Thunderbolt motherboard and have the same problem.
Is this a known issue with 10.11? I've tried fresh installs, removing HDDs, PCIs, the graphic card, RAM

Everything else seems to run as it should.

My system comprises of:
Asus P8Z77-V-PRO-Thunderbolt (mobo)
Intel i7 Ivybrige 3770k (processor)
Gigabyte GT 640 (graphic card)
8GB Corsair Vengeance 2x 4GB DDR3 1600 Ram
8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x 4GB DDR3 1600 Ram

I've included some images in the hope someone might be able to see what the problem is.
