CSM is disable, i follow OC Laptop from Dortania, last firmware for Samsung 970 evo plus = ok (Catalina worked on with old Clover bootloader). My config is very simple, only one SSD Nvme, no wifi, no bt, ethernet realtek 8111, intel HD630 graphics, one screen plug on HDMI, really basic... OC make me crazy, really

Maybe start with cleaning my efi, also delete the s200 usb kext, as that is specific for my machine. Did you also have a serial that matches the type of Mac? Don’t mix a serial or an iMac with Mac mini for example. Can you share the verbose message you get when booting with my efi?

Hi folks,

will post quick update from my S200.

I have my device for almost 2 years now and it's time that this change from a daily construction site to a daily driver.

I upgraded to full disk space:
- Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB with Sabrent Cooler
- Samsung 970 Evo+ 1TB with EK Water Blocks Cooler
- SanDisk SSD+ 2TB

If look to my config.plist you will see i use SMBIOS iMacPro1,1. This was the first SMBIOS i try after reading this post from thexsenator. After trying many others coming back to this, because of the sleep/wake issue i have reported by flapy here. For me sleep/wake is working, maybe the missing Intel ME is not necessary for iMacPro1,1 because this is xeon based mac. I don't know. But i still found problems with sleep/wake and think they are also related to multi-display setup. So far i only use one monitor on mini-displayport.

Nice GB result, similar to the i78850h I have. Did you apply any undervolting as well? If not, even more impressive. Cooling seems to be working well on your rig.

i did no overclocking/undervolting on my machine. The GB5 results are from the 2nd of two runs with ~ 4 minute pause. The cpu fan is getting a little bit loud on the benchmark run, but thats completely okay and cooling performance is also completely okay for this cpu.
Actually i have default settings in bios/uefi:
CSM -> disabled
Fast boot/secure boot -> disabled
Rest you can see in post #535.

Btw. I use OCConfigurator and ProperTree for config.plist editing. Many people say "use only plist editor for config.plist so you learn about OC is working bla bla". For me OCConfigurator is a handy and fast tool that works very good. After creating or editing a config.plist i always check them at https://opencore.slowgeek.com/

Btw. I use OCConfigurator and ProperTree for config.plist editing. Many people say "use only plist editor for config.plist so you learn about OC is working bla bla". For me OCConfigurator is a handy and fast tool that works very good. After creating or editing a config.plist i always check them at https://opencore.slowgeek.com/

Nice result then! I did undervolt my machine, using voltage shift. It helps especially for longer multicore runs. But my gb5 score is lower than yours, so cooling of the 8850h is more of an issue it seems(or cooling paste or any other reason you can think of). But like you said, temps are always in range of acceptable.

like that site to check the plist, for me it always is a bit of a hurdle to update it because of the time it takes me. Will try that oc configurator next time, I already made my OC manual plist flying hours and “learnt” enough

Used your EFI-S200-WIFI :
- remove unused kext like brcm...
- modify config.plist with OC snapshot, modify boot-args, add good Macmini8,1 serial, and change value like your #522 topic.
- modify BIOS settings
- update Samsung's 970 Evo Plus firmware

How i make a S-200-USB.kext for my own machine ?

I follow dortania' s tutorial to create USB stick (with both ubuntu OS or windows10) i think create it on MacOS is the best way...
But USB's bootin and OC loads something...

Please help

You can make the usb kext using hackintool.

do you have verbose messages? Please also share your full efi folder.

For those interested, reapplying thermal paste might be a smart thing especially between the cpu and the copper spacer. I did this today and under load themps are low 70’s at most! Instead of mid 80’s. A lot quieter as well. Geek bench scores similar to before but a lot less noice. 1130/5375 more or less.
