Hello fellow Mac Pro enthusiasts,

I am about to start my first Mac Pro mod and asking myself if the stock Mainboard follows the eATX standard? Then a third party eATX Board could also fit. Has this been done before and do you think this could be possible?

Greetings

In the case of MacPro 2008, and if you are going to use the HDD bays, it will not fit the eATX and ATX motherboard, only the mATX.
As I will use all the bays, I opted for a Gigabyte Z390M Gaming.

Your build looks very nice. How did you do the cutting for the acrylic(?) plate? Would it be possible to reinstall the aluminum cages that hold the ram and covered the CPU heatsinks or is the cooler to tall for this?

In this case I used a microretific (Dremel) to cut the acrylic.
Yes it is possible, only the ram cover that you have to cut the bottom part to be able to put it.
