And thanks again to you, Tony!

I think this is the easiest way to really put things into prospective... a lot of noob have a hard time getting this right. I think a full Multibeast tutorial would be good! :D I know I lost audio after about 4 months after I moved my lion partion from a HD to an SSD... All I had under devices was SOUNDFLOWER CH 2 & CH 16... This probably would have help!

thanks for info

But what is the "Patched AppleHDA" section for? Is it just for re-enabling audio after updates?
Audio must be installed after every update regardless of the audio installation method. The guide suggests taking a scerenshot of the working audio selections for reference when an update is next installed.

The patched AppleHDAs are the current AppleHDA.kext edit for each codec providing advanced audio capabilities including alternate audio configurations, audio customization and HDMI audio. For more information, Optimized Realtek Lion 10.7.4 AppleHDA

I would try a different set of head phones first and then double check your wiring to make sure everything is grounded! If everything is okay try a different surge protector!

i am still a bit confused...

i have audio working on my z77X-UD5H but after a reboot or if i boot from a different lion partition
the audio output goes away
I have to restart once more to get it back on

i installed audio via multibeast 4.6 using

ALC8xxHDA
AppleHDA Rollback
Non-DSDT HDAEnabler > ALC898

but i'd like everything to work everytime i boot up

what settings would i need to re-run multibeast and get audio out [also to get front audio working]

Thanks

What do you mean by "if i boot from a different lion partition"? Run MultiBeast/System Utilities.
