Hi guys, I need to build a Hackintosh for someone with an i7, 1151, 32gb ram, 980, etc., and it has been many years since I've built one, normally I have stayed away from them after having trouble many years ago. I was going to go with the GA-Z170X Gaming 7 board but now I am hearing the audio won't work without modifying things, and I don't want to have trouble here. Can someone recommend a nice build with the above specs and Thunderbolt 3? I would really appreciate it!

We're very close to getting Kaby Lake support so you may want to go with either an I7-7770 or 7770K CPU for the build.

Then using a fake CPU ID won't be necessary. Once Kaby Lake systems are in the Buyer's Guide, choose the CustoMac Pro build that has TB3 onboard and duplicate that. This could happen as soon as the July 2017 guide so keep checking back over the next 3 weeks to see. If you can't wait that long to buy components you could choose the Z270X-UD5 from Gigabyte. It has TB3 and compatible onboard audio. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRYHW6B/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

Start out by installing Windows on the build first and then when there is full Kaby Lake support do the macOS Sierra install.

Thanks but I need the systems this week. Sky lake isn't a problem. But do you know of the best board? Will I need to do the CPU ID for a non Kaby chip? Thanks!

If you can still find the Designare board by Gigabyte that would work. See User Builds for some guides. No you won't need fake CPU ID with the Skylake I7-6700.
