I've seen posts from users where this card apparantly shows up as AirPort native, but, I don't have that much luck.

The card doesn't show up at all. Do I need a specific kext?

Are you runnin' at 64bit? if YES, it doesn't work.

DWA-556 runs only at 32bit.

I'll boot in 32 and see what happens. Thank you for your post. :)

No luck in 32bit either. What am I missing?

Hmmm.... no kext needed for sure.
Sorry, can't help you with that anymore.
No idea..

1 thing for sure is that it doesn't work on 64bit.

Ah well, I can manage without for the moment. I'll have a look at in some other time. Thanks!

Actually, it does work in 64-bit mode. You need this kext:

However, mine stopped working after two weeks and is now very erratic. Haven't been able to figure out what it is, but it's driving me crazy. Ready to send it back and try a new adapter, but I can't find another PCI (non-USB) Wi-Fi adapter that people seem to have success with. Any suggestions?

Still not showing up. I get a green light on the card, but that's it. :-\
