DVD player app crashing

hello,
the application DVD player will not open. seems to be a common problem but I do not know how to solve it. I downloaded from the apple applications starting but I can not install it because I have the latest one (that I can not delete). Use Lion 10.7.4

6870 the reference design card should be Duckweed.
Reference design= 2x mini display port, 2x DVI and 1x HDMI
