Thanks so much. Last question is will I be able to leave the crossfire cable on without any problems when booting back into OS X?

No problems.... a couple things to note about crossfire 6870's.

Top card will be the only one usable for inputs, like either 1 or 2, 3 monitors! Your choice.

You will not be using the power of 2 6870's in OSX, it will recognize both cards but crossfire is not supported in OSX

This wont interfere when dual booting as well, Im dual booting WIN7 & OSX on a daily basis. Obviously I use the power for gaming in WIN7..

Good luck :thumbup:

Great news thanks.

Hi,
I'm using 2 HD 6870 XFX (XFX HD-687A-ZDFC) and I would like to use 4 out each videocard (overall 8 out). If I use short cable it work fine but when I use CAT5/6 extender or fiber TX/RX it doesn't work or work bad. I tried different extender and I notice that with extender with 2 CAT5 (DCC and VIDEO separately) the macpc work better. I'm wondering to find out if framebuffer can influence on this issues. I'm using GIBBA framebuffer, this is all my boot.plist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>npci=0x3000 darkwake=0 AtiConfig=Gibba AtiPorts=5</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Boot Graphics</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>PCIRootUID</key>
<string>1</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1024x768x32</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
</dict>
</plist>

do you have any suggestions?

thanks
