Dual e5-2683 setup

Hi,
I have a X10DAX workstation board with 64gb ecc ram and two e5-2683s, the chipset is intel C612.
just checking wether this would work with a high Sierra install. I haven't tried yet but I have the parts arriving soon, and want to use as a music production machine.
Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm thinking of using a 1070 with web drivers, but its not that important as to wether I will be able to use Macs fan control once I've got everything installed, do you think Ill be able to control the fans?

That will prevent you from ever upgrading beyond High Sierra should you feel the need at some time in the future.

I doubt it but who knows ?

Powerful graphics are not that important for audio, you could install a fanless option as noise is critical.

True, but occasionally i like to do a bit of gaming. i was thinking of installing an aio on the gpu as that would make it a bit quieter but it’s a pricey option. i could install a large passive cooler and use the case fans but that could hinder performance a bit.
