Hi I am new at this and was wondering if you can boot straight into osx automatically and then have the option to press a function to stop this automatic boot and select your second os.

It depends on how you have Chimera setup (Instant Menu or not). It can be configured either way (always show the menu, or show the menu only if a key is hit within a certain amount of time).

You can edit the /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist directly (use google to search for documentation), or you can use Chameleon Wizard.
