What do you mean?
There is some space to the "sides". Maybe this pic will help to understand. The bottom of the frame (with the gap) is facing the back side of the case.

Small update:

I will send my CPU to surgery. That means a member of another forum will remove the metal cover of the CPU and replace the "bad" Intel thermal paste with much better liquid metal "paste".
That guy is kind of an expert for that job and did that multiple times. That's why I will not do it myself and I don't recommend anybody to try it himself.

After the job I should get much better temperatures (15°C and maybe more).

Why is your temperatures so high?
I got the same 3770k chip and it idles around 22-32 degrees?

That are very good temps you got!
My CPU is slightly overlocked and a higher vcore. I guess overall I got a bad CPU with bad thermal paste :/

Should be much better after surgery!

@Minihack: Yes he does (fortunately).
He is kind of famous for that job and did it multiple times.

So whats your temps like now and o/c?

I just did mine, managed to hit 4.8 stable with a average idle of 32-38 degrees.
