What would be the most powerful graphics card for work in the Adobe suite and FCPX, to pair with a 8700k? I have been looking at the Vega 64 Liquid-Cooled and GTX 1080ti. My current understanding is that the 1080ti has more raw power (especially for occasional gaming in windows) and is more energy-efficient, but that the AMD Vega cards have better optimization in Mac OS.

Would appreciate your thoughts, insights and any experience you could provide.

What percentage of your time will be spent working in the Adobe Suite ?

Not quite sure. Maybe 60% of time under load.

If you don't mind the hassle of updating Nvidia Web drivers frequently the 1080 Ti would be your best bet. It performs well enough in FCP X too if that's not your primary editing program. The Vega 64 draws a lot more power and runs hotter hence the need for liquid cooling. Compared to your 650m graphics it will be a quantum leap upgrade in graphics performance.
