Hi,

I have an working High Sierra installation with NVIDIA GTX 1050TI 4GB.
As the Metal Card is not supported neither in Mojave nor in Catalina I was thinking to downgrade back to the integrated i5 graphic card and then to update to Mojave or directly to Catalina.
I don't want to loose my working FaceTime/iTunes.

What is the simplest way to do this?

Do you recommend this?

Thank you in advance for any hints, existing threads (which I did not find) or recommendations.

if you have whatevergreen and Lilu you should be able to uninstall the drivers for the Nvidia card, pull the card, and reboot.

Hi,

unfortunately I was not able to check at once the given solution of Scott. Now I have little bit more time .
I believe my system setup is a little bit old. The setup is from October 2017.

So in my clover configurator I could not find the the whatever green and Lilu kexts.
I have a working clone of my boot drive even so some processes are slowing down this clone heavily (suhelprd and mds).

As I did not get hold of the whatevergreen and Lilu I tried to update my 10.13.1 to 10.13.6 the last High Sierra.

I followed the explanations given by Storch for the update to 10.13.5

1. I trim forced the system. ok
2. I updated the clover build (copy from tonymac) V2.5k r5102 UEFI (12559ae) ok
3. I replaced the the apfs.efi in the clover /drivers64uefi/ root. ok
4. I downloaded the latest Nvidia web drivers but did not install them yet. ok
5. I started the update process via AppStore for the version 10.13.6. ok

Unfortunately the update blocked and showed in verbose : "unsupported PCH"

I tried to figure out the problem but after now several hours I need help I guess.

Supplementary Information:

Funnily I do not have Kext in none of the folder even the folder :"other" is empty.

My final goal is to update to Mojave or Catalina with my internal GPU HD630. May be later I will try to it up with a AMD GPU.

I finally gave up to downgrade to the HD 630 in High Sierra.

I set up the system completely from the scratch with Catalina.

I installed instead of the GTX 1050 TI a AMD RX580.

Installation went through. Some bugs with Audio and an uncertain feeling for NVRAM.
