Hello,

I have a question about a new CPU cooler I want to order.

The interior of my case: (sorry for the messy look, the picture is a bit outdated - it's better now :) )

This is the cooler I'd like to buy: http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/Hyper-612-ver2/

The airflow in my case is from front to rear (left to right on the picture). If I install this cooler, will it block my airflow and heat up my case instead of cooling it down?

Should not be a problem as its pretty small, I have a Silverarrow on mine, tricky to mount and with 0 mm to spare :D

Thank you.

Anyone else?

I have an Arctic Freezer i30, which is 0,6mm taller than the Cooler Master, and it fits fine (with The Laser Hive's motherboard plate).

So you'll have no problems whatsoever, neither have problems with the airflow.

You can see the cooler in my build here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/powermac-g5/165848-jafingis-simple-powermac-g5-matx-mod.html#post1055336

Thanks, helps me a lot! So your CPU Cooler sucks air from the front to cool the CPU, and than the rear takes the hot air out of the case?

Yes! Exactly! It's running pretty cool, even when running the fans in low-noise mode (it's 100% silent). With Prime95 it gets to about 68 degrees after one hour. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

Yeah, that's nice! How about your GPU and HDD? Mine get quite hot and the stock CPU fan makes a lot of noise so that is why I want a better one.

A bit off-topic: do you have any tips to improve the interior of my case? For reference, see the last post of http://www.tonymacx86.com/powermac-g5/163998-pc-g5-atx.html :)

I can recommend the Arctic i30 cooler i use. When setting the CPU fan to silent in the UEFI, it's dead-silent.

I don't have a dedicated GPU. I use the HD4600 built into the processor. I only use this Hackintosh for web browsing, email etc. so no need for dedicated GPU.

Will reply regarding interior in my thread, as it will be the same answer to the question in your thread ;-)

Yeah, thanks :cool::clap:
