So what now?
The new MacPro is out for a while.
Is the i7 4930K natively supported or not?

YES or NO, please.

If "NO": what is to do to get it working? (patch the kernel - how? with which tools?)

thx, Mike

10.9.2 has not yet been released for download. I hope that it will be available in the next 4 weeks - it could be a lot quicker but as I do not work for Apple, nor do I have any inside knowledge, then an educated guess is the best I can do right now.

Thanks Adrian for your reply!

In case any other noob with hacintoshes (like me) is wondering how to make a kernel patch I'll answer my above question by myself:
Well, I'm talking about replacing the kernel rather than patching it!
1.) You have to find the new kernel (search for "new_mach_kernel" and "download", you'll find it...)
2.) copy it to the root directory of your stick
3.) try to install
that's it.

And: NO the i7-4930K is not supported yet (Feb 2014).

Hey,
I have the same CPU. Do you know how to patch the Kernel? I don't know :(

OSX 10.9.1 is installed on my USB and now? Copy and Paste the Kernel in which folder? :banghead:

Thanks so much
Marco

Hi Marco,

if you got a running OSX and want to replace the kernel just copy the new one to your root directory on your system drive.

cheers, Mike

PS: I renamed the original kernel before copying ;-)

Hi Mike,

is with 10.9.2 still needed to patch the kernel?

If yes could you please explain it step by step?
I've tried to install the version 10.9.2 with 20 different kernelflags variations, but with no success.

i7-4930k @4,1ghz
Gigabyte X79 UP4 (F4 Bios)
Nvidia GTX 760 4GB
Samsung SSD Pro 256GB

Thanks
Marco
