Question is does it display properly under about this Mac? This question, relates to any "engineering sample" Intel chip? the 9900 T is almost impossible to come by. using system Definition 14,1 mine displays as an I7, not an I9. This may be only cosmetic as ES processor display as 0000 under windows using HWinfo 64 but perform as a retail version. I intended to use something newer than 14.1 and since the processor displays as I7 not unknown I hesitate to correct a cosmetic flaw shown in AppleSystemInfo.strings, since it not showing as unknown. Any ideas on this?

It is Compatible!!
Here is the easy hex correction for engineering sample processors (ES) and "Unknown" being displayed. I WOULD SUGGEST NOT DOING THIS unless About this Mac displays: unknown, or you own an ES processor which displays improperly. (the following are hexadecimal values)
CORE i3 0x0309
CORE i5 0x0407, 0x0601, or 0x0605 (to be more accurate)
CORE i7 0x0701, 0x0507, or 0x0705 (to be more accurate)
CORE i9 0x1005
Zeon Series:
0x0505 = Dual-Core Intel Xeon
0x0510 = Quad-Core Intel Xeon
0x05A5 = Quad-Core Intel Xeon
0x0506 = 6-Core Intel Xeon
0x0a01 = 8-Core Intel Xeon
IORegistry Explorer can help with this task.
Enter under CPU tab on left under Clover configurator in processor type box (example of i7 below) Note: please update to lasted version of Clover,being careful to check all required kexts are not removed in any way during updating process!!!!!
