Does anyone have a Nvidia GTX 1070/1080 working in El Capitan?

Im awaiting the release of new drivers from Nvidia, but in the mean time Im wondering if it is possible or anyone has found a way to get a 1070/1080 nvidia card to work in el capitan? Im currently under the impression that you need Pascal support and that will only be available in MacOs Sierra. In addition, Nvidia has to release mac drivers for Sierra first before there is any Nvidia support much less the 10 series...Is this correct? Im running a Asus Rog G752 with a 1070 and hoping to get it to work in there as the laptop only uses the discrete card so without it, theres no point. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.
