Yes. Samsung 970 evo plus 500gb works. I did not update the firmware. It was the last firmware. Production date 2019 08 22. Made in China.

Just to chime in and say I got a 1TB EVO Plus from amazon.co.uk this week and it already had the latest Firmware
2B2QEXM7 installed. Popped it in my 5,1 Mac Pro with NVMe adapter and after initialising all working fine with expected write/read speeds (1400/1500?

So as i understand the Plus series is now fixed for use in Hackintoshes? Or are the regular EVO still considered more stable?

With the latest 2B2QEXM7 firmware on the EVO 970 Plus with my Hackintosh yes, the EVO Plus has worked straight away and without issue. It already came with the 2B2QEXM7 firmware mind.

Vs the regular 970 Evo it has a 10 to 15% faster read/write speed, measured in Blackmagic.

I just installed a 970 Evo Plus 1 TB which resulted in constant kernel panics. Updated the firmware and all issues solved. Working at full speed like a charm!

Samsung evo 970 plus is working great now. If you have the ssd with old firmware, simply upgrade it to newest one
