The reason I built my hackintosh is because I was in need of a new computer and I wanted a tower and I also wanted my next computer to be a mac but I just couldn't afford a mac for what I wanted in it. So the hackintosh was the perfect solution.

Okay so my build started off with a lot of research and finding compatible parts and components but I'm sure that's not what you want to hear. I picked out my parts according to what users had to say on these forums. After approximately 3 months of researching and watching videos I went and bought my parts from my local computer parts store.

My build was a breeze being my first and everything is very quiet. I had no trouble at all installing Mavericks on this machine as I only needed -x to get into the install screen on the very first boot as I already knew before because of these forums. My first problem was three days later when I experienced my first freeze which had been brought up in many posts on these forums, and I knew was not irregular. I tried fixing it by changing one of the sticks of RAM into a different slot (BTW the RAM was not at 1600mhz because I knew it caused these freeze problems with this motherboard) but that didn't work. I updated my BIOS to the modded F5 BIOS which did not work. All my doubts where down, and I was worrying a lot since this was my first Hackintosh build and actually Computer build. I was forced to restore my install of Mavericks on my machine with the F5 BIOS installed whilst installing Mavericks. After the install I did the normal things like Setting MultiBeast up and installing a few of useful apps like AppCleaner and Java and Adobe Flash and Alfred. After all this I experienced another freeze. I kept it at that and booted it up the next morning. Everything has been A-OK since then 4 days ago. I don't want to jinx myself but I've had no problems since.

My CPU is set to turbo boost which it started on out of the box (3.9ghz) which is plenty of power for me.

My BIOS doesn't have much things changed. All I did was leave the memory at 1333mhz, load defaults and change display to IGFX.

MultiBeast was easy as I said before. I rebooted and everything works. Some things like iMessage don't work and sometimes when I wake from sleep, audio doesn't work. I don't have any other problems otherwise.

Welcome to the club of Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H owners. Mine runs great even sleep/wake-up works flawlessly.

Thanks!!
I'm now really happy with my system and mine also works wake/sleep very well. Looking into buying a trackpad but I know that I need a bluetooth dongle to get it working. Can you recommend any?:headbang:

Yes...there are three mentioned in the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide in the Accessories section:

GMYLE Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter - 10.8+ Wakes from Sleep
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007MKMJGO/ @ $10 USD

IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter - 10.8+ Wakes from Sleep
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007GFX0PY/ @ $12 USD

IOGear Bluetooth 2.1 Adapter - Works with OS X 10.6+ but No Wake from Sleep
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018O9JIG/

I still use my 3 year old Targus which" Wakes from Sleep":

Targus USB Bluetooth® Adapter - Class 2 ACB10US - only $5 USD @ Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002K6RK0/

While Newegg & Amazon has the latest model, the ACB10US1, still BT 2.0, but costs $28 USD at Newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812251019
and Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005VNM630/ has it for $20 USD

Since you don't have to support Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks, I'd would use either the GMYLE or the IOGear BT 4.0 (first two mentioned above) as they will provide you better BT connectivity.

I went to my local retailer yesterday and picked myself up the IOGEAR 4.0 one and its been fantastic! I own a bluetooth keyboard and it connected to that straight away. All good. Thanks Stork!!!:clap::headbang:
