Hello,

I want to try to hide or "turn off" the KT controller on my Asus Q87T mainboard. Can this be done by an SSDT?
The device is IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/pci8086,8c3d@16,3

Have you disabled the Serial port (SuperIO) in BIOS settings ?

No one?

I know it is possible to hide devices like this:

...
Scope (\_SB)

{
External (RMEM, DeviceObj)
Scope (RMEM)
{

Name (_STA, Zero)
}
}
...

But instead of having a name like "RMEM" like in the example I only have the PCI ID pci8086,8c3d.

Happy new year!
Tim

Hi,

yes, it's disabled in the BIOS. But it still pops up in IORegistryExplorer and it leads to an unnecessary network device "PCI Serial Adapter(22)". It's nothing to worry about other a cosmetic problem.

Tim
