Direct Update to macOS Sierra using Clover

There may be another way to do it. Im running xfx 280x as well. If you boot with internal graphics first, you should be able to delete the kext. You can also try to dynamically upload a different vbios. Im using asus 280x vbios.
There's a good description here on how to do it in case deleting the kext no longer works. Damn xfx cards not liking hackintoshes

Thanks for the info! I'm going to give this a shot

Successfully updated, I ran into errors on first try because I basically forgot about FakeSMC but overall everything went smoothly. No problem with my dual monitor setup and USB3 is still working like a charm. Yay!

I successfully upgraded to Sierra, but I have no USB3 and I have a kernel_task that is hogging about 200% of CPU constantly, and the system feels laggy, perhaps because of the kernel_task. Anyone have any similar issues with USB?

My machine restarts every time I try to boot into Sierra. I get about this far before it restarts. http://imgur.com/yhVn2uE

Hi team,

I need some help please. Have been able to get into the system - but black screen now on my 560ti with nVidia disabled, and kernel panic if i try to reboot with web drivers.

Obviously I don't have the system definitions defined in the AGPFIX (I'm using a 12,2 on this build with a 560ti and a sandy bridge CPU).

Anyone have any suggestions / reasons why the web drivers KP and how i can get apple display drivers to work?

Hi I am on El Capitan.
When I check for updates via the App Store, it shows no updates available.
My system is as per my signature.
iMac 13.2 in SMBIOS.

Its not an update its a stand alone application to install .. you will find it in the store .

You might need a newer SMbios to download I'm not sure if 13.2 is supported.

maybe need to wait for multibeast 9

Direct Update to macOS Sierra using Clover

Established Clover users on OS X El Capitan who wish to update directly to macOS Sierra can do so just like a regular Mac would. This fully native method requires no USB creation or preparation.

Before you begin, we strongly recommend performing a full backup of your existing system using Carbon Copy Cloner. By doing this, you can always go back to your working OS X El Capitan installation.

1. Download the latest version of Clover from sourceforge and update your existing Clover install.

2. Open Clover configuration folder on the root of your system drive or EFI Partition using EFI Mounter v3. Copy FakeSMC.kext and any other extra necessary kexts to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/. If you need essential kexts, download them here.

3. Download Install macOS Sierra Application from the Mac App Store. When complete, the app will open. Please note, the Application will disappear after use.

4. Choose system drive for install (Example: Macintosh HD). When complete, the computer will automatically reboot.

5. When Clover boot screen appears, choose Boot macOS Install option (Example: Boot macOS Install from Macintosh HD). Choosing your system drive will go back to your previous installation without updating. Press spacebar to enter Boot Options and choose Without Caches option and/or Inject Kexts option then Boot Mac OS X with selected options.

6. Complete the installation process. When complete, the computer will automatically reboot.

7. When Clover boot screen appears, choose Boot Mac OS X option (Example: Boot Mac OS X from Macintosh HD). The computer will then complete the update.
