Well the time has come and Blizzard finally announced the release date for the long anticipated Diablo III.

Diablo III will launch on May 15, 2012 and you can pre-order now through Battle.net.

The launch will not see PVP mode as first mentioned being in the game. That will be patched in at a later date. It was left out at this time so the game can be launched without the masses waiting and waiting for the highly anticipated game.

Quick Game Summery:
Diablo III picks up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both Heaven and Hell, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen.

For those of you who play WoW there are a deal that if you bought a Years subscription of WoW you got Diablo III free. I don't know the full details about it because I have since deleted one of my WoW accounts with the other on the fence. I have been playing Star Wars and see no reason to pay a monthly gaming fee for several accounts anymore.

The Cinematic trailer.

So who will play this and what are you looking forward to about this game?
I will play this, I kinda look forward to it. My first real Apple game was Diablo II around 2000 on my iMac G3 :D I played the poop out of it lol.

I believe the year subscription of WoW gives you just a free Beta key for Diablo 3. I could be wrong though.
Yeah I wasnt sure but then I am heavaly debating on canceling my remaining WoW account as it is.

I've been playing the beta a little bit, and in single-player mode it runs beautifully on my Radeon 6850 system, everything maxed, plus anti-aliasing. Supposedly the final, retail version will have even smoother FPS.

The gameplay is really great. There are lots of different events and small tidbits to keep the game dynamic and interesting. It doesn't really feel and play like a Diablo game, but in a good way. It's a lot more interesting, and there is more to the gameplay than just vast hordes of monsters to slay, like randomized events. I think this is closer to a real RPG than the previous Diablos.

the WoW annual pass does not give you any beta access to D3, it does give you a free copy of D3 on release tho. you should probably read things before cancelling your annual pass (which you can't without breaking the contract).
