Preinstallation tasks (set up flash drive with correct Clover info)

Prepare flash drive
  1. On OS X computer, download El Capitan 10.12 from Mac App Store
  2. Format USB drive (Disk Utility-> USB drive-> Erase - 1 partition named "USB", Mac OS Extended (Journal), GUID Partition Table
  3. Copy El Capitan files to USB drive
    1. Code:
      sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/ --nointeraction
  4. Install Clover Bootloader - https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/
    1. (I have version v2.3k_r3949) - You should download the latest version, and only use my version if there's an issue
    2. Run installer
    3. Change install location to your USB drive
    4. Customize
      1. Install for UEFI booting only
      2. Install Clover in the ESP
      3. Drivers64UEFI->OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 (it's the Fix2 version)
  5. Copy essential kexts
    1. FakeSMC.kext (required for all hackintosh installation)

Clover fixes
  1. Working config.plist

reserved ( just because I like posting)

<another reserved>, cause 3 ain't enough

With clean clover + uefi +OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 + fakesmc, imac14,2 definition+config.plist in the Sierra desktop thread

Boot gets stuck at the ++++ steps

OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Tried the new usb port limit patch for Sierra+100series, tried changing vboxhfs with hfsplus, tried changing aptiofixdrv2 with v1, tried combination of these things, still stuck

It's probably something to do with the usb port limit or apci issues.

Was using a usb3.0 drive, going to get a 16GB usb 2.0 drive and retry

Not a guide. Moved to laptop support.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.

Pay attention the Skylake info in the FAQ. It is important.

I decided to upgrade to sierra to get proper smbios and CPU power management for my 6820hq quad core i7. I managed to get Sierra installed and all SSDT/DSDT patched but when I try to use SSDT.aml generated by SSDTprgen latest beta I get a kernel panic. SortedOrder is set properly. I don't get a KP when using SMBIOS iMac 17,1 and generating an SSDT. Any ideas?

Use a different SMBIOS.

Is there anything I can do troubleshoot this further? I'd really like to get this SMBIOS working as it's the only one that matches my CPU model.
